Faro Barcelona exhibits at Appartamento Spagnolo, within Milan Design Week

22 Abr 2024

Faro Barcelona was present from April 15 to 21 at Appartamento Spagnolo, an interior design exhibition held in collaboration with ICEX under the brand Interiors From Spain and Elle Decor Italia, coinciding with Milan Design Week and the Salone del Mobile.

Appartamento Spagnolo represents an interior design exhibition whose purpose is to showcase the best of Spanish design in an original exhibition in the heart of Milan, curated by the DWA Design Studio.

The Exhibition

In this project, six distinct rooms of the unique Palazzo Castiglioni were decorated with the foremost examples of Spanish interior design, each creating a unique atmosphere through a selection of light fixtures designed for each space.

On this occasion, some of our most innovative collections were presented, among which Cuca, a design by Faro Lab, and Gaia, by Yembarastudio, stood out, taking center stage in the winter garden set up within the Palazzo.

Cuca, characterized by its simple structure that elevates a small sphere of light, ambiently illuminates the garden, creating minimalist light compositions that give the impression of light points floating in the space.

Gaia, on the other hand, is an outdoor beacon that generates an elegant play of light and shadows thanks to the light source located inside and contrasting with its structure.

Tierra, Mar and Aire, presented in Milan

During Milan Design Week, there was room for Hector Serrano, the designer in charge of the Tierra, Mar and Aire collection, to showcase the collection, discussing its inspiration, eco-design, and the entire story surrounding the family of light fixtures.

Tierra, Mar and Aire is a collection of honest and sustainable light fixtures made from recycled materials and through 3D printing, representing Faro Barcelona's biggest commitment this year towards a circular manufacturing model that incorporates digital craftsmanship and helps us reflect on our relationship with the planet. Thus, Earth, Sea, and Air embody the fundamental values of Faro Barcelona, such as circularity, sustainability, and recycling.

Within the exhibition, Aire took prominence in the bathroom installation, being the main light source. Aire is made from PETG, the most recycled plastic globally, and its size is feasible thanks to 3D printing. This manufacturing method, combined with the simplicity of the morphology of the Air collection, gives prominence to the striations of the material, which create an attractive optical effect that brings them closer to craftsmanship, resulting in a concept we call digital craftsmanship.

In the bathroom itself, our wall sconce Moy, a design by Nahtrang, was installed vertically in a composition of three light fixtures that perfectly complemented the intimacy of the bathroom.
