Workshop sustainable origami lamp for BDW 2022

12 Jul 2022

The last workshop held for Barcelona Design Week was given by Estela Moreno, CEO of the company Cartoncita and with the collaboration of Fedrigoni Paper, who provided us with their FSC papers.

Estela Moreno is in charge of the company Cartoncita, a paper artist with more than 10 years of experience with origami and paper art techniques. Each piece created involves a high level of craftsmanship, which allowed the attendees of our origami workshop to create a very original and unique lampshade.

The origami lamp was inspired by our COSTAS lamp, a collection of hanging lamps designed by Alex&Manel Lluscà that is characterised by its minimalist and Mediterranean style rattan lampshade. Handcrafted, each one of them is unique.

Sustainability and recycling are essential values of Faro Barcelona, in which we work every day to carry out an environmentally friendly production.

With this workshop we are committed to giving a second life to materials, actively contributing to the minimisation of waste.

In addition, you will be able to find an origami light panel in the window of our Showroom Espacio Princesa at 52 Princesa Street during the summer months. An origami panel made by Estela Moreno from Cartoncita with recycled paper from Fedrigoni Paper, a mix that highlights Faro's values of sustainability, design with values and craftsmanship.

We love how it turned out! What about you?
