Women who light up: this was our encounter with MMAS Lighting in Buenos Aires

On March 27, our Buenos Aires showroom became a meeting point to reflect on lighting design from a more conscious, more personal, and more female perspective. An intimate talk about craft, shared vision, and the way light connects people.

From Spain, Michela Mezzavilla and Mariel Fuentes — partners at MMAS Lighting — joined us via video call to share their professional journey and insights from some of their most notable projects. Their deeply collaborative and intentional approach opened the floor for an honest discussion about the challenges and lessons of their day-to-day work.

The second half of the evening was even more powerful. The attendees, all women working in lighting design, took part with questions, insights, and reflections. They discussed shared leadership, working in equality, and the value of a profession that often remains in the shadows. Hearing so many voices exchange perspectives was a clear reminder of the power of meaningful dialogue.

The event confirmed something we already felt: we need more spaces like this. Spaces to share, be seen, and build community. Because design evolves when it’s backed by a vibrant network of people working with purpose.

If you missed it, don’t worry — the full talk is now available on our new podcast Iluminados. Listen to it on Spotify.
