On March 26th, we took part in a very special session with the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires, where we delivered a talk to Interior Design students on lighting for hospitality spaces. These kinds of meetings are part of a key moment for Faro Barcelona as we keep building our presence in Argentina and across Latin America, connecting with professionals and future designers shaping new projects in the sector.
The session was led by our South America sales representative, Julieta Munilla, who walked through how to develop a lighting project from scratch, combining technical criteria with a clear conceptual approach. We explored how light shapes atmospheres, supports the identity of a space and guides user experience. One of the key topics was zoning: bar, tables, façade, outdoor areas and kitchen. Each space has specific requirements, and understanding them leads to more coherent and functional solutions.
We also shared some practical insights: how to avoid glare at the table without losing visual impact, why layering light works better than relying on a single general source, and how colour temperature can reinforce a restaurant’s concept. These decisions directly affect both customer perception and daily operations.
The session was dynamic and highly engaging, with plenty of questions and discussion.
We would like to thank the University of Palermo for the invitation and all attendees for their interest and participation.
