Villa Porcelaine: the search for harmony between classic and contemporary

In the picturesque surroundings of Keszthely stands Villa Porcelaine, a renovation project that embodies the fusion of classic and contemporary styles. Designed by Nóra Báger and managed by Károly Klára, from our official distributor Solinfo Group, this villa stands out not only for its original beauty but also for the creativity of its owner and the craftsmanship of the designers.

An inspiring concept

The name Villa Porcelaine evokes the originality and fragility of the villa, as well as the refined and historical character of porcelain. The villa’s spacious apartments are ideal for families or groups of friends, while a coworking office in the attic offers an efficient space to work. The renovation was carried out with the aim of preserving the building’s original beauty, reflecting its exterior character in the interiors and blending contemporary and classic features.

A challenging design

The design of Villa Porcelaine presented an exciting challenge: to create a coherent visual relationship between the classic villa and the modern office in the attic. The black and white chessboard motif helped to establish a coherent framework for the space, and the choice of materials combined contemporary and timeless elements, with bronze and copper tones dominating the classic-style spaces.

To accentuate this blend of styles, lighting played a crucial role. In the bedrooms, the Mitic wall lamps from Faro Barcelona were chosen, with an elegant chrome finish and white shades. Placed on either side of the beds, they provide functional and ambient lighting that helps create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.

In the bathrooms, the Gala wall lamps, also from Faro Barcelona, were a perfect choice. In one of the bathrooms, the golden finish of the lamp complements the classic and elegant decor of the space, while in another bathroom, the black finish stands out against a wall of square tiles in white and yellow, following the chessboard theme but adding a modern and casual touch. This versatility in Faro Barcelona’s designs allowed them to perfectly adapt to the different aesthetics present in the villa.

A space for every need

The villa is not only a place to rest but also a space that facilitates creative work. The coworking office in the attic is an example of how a functional and modern space can be integrated into a classic setting. This balance between old and new is reflected in every corner of the villa, where lighting plays a crucial role in creating unique atmospheres.

Villa Porcelaine is a testament to the power of design to transform and revitalize historic spaces, maintaining their essence while adapting to modern needs.

This project is an excellent example of how Faro Barcelona’s lighting can enhance both the functionality and aesthetics of a space, creating environments that are both welcoming and inspiring.
