In the heart of the Sierra de Ayllón, in Riaza, Segovia, lies Casa Riaza, an impressive 468 m² single-family home that manages to blend traditional architecture with a contemporary approach. With exposed roofs, metal trusses, and a double height that become the main design features, this house is an example of how classic values and modern solutions can coexist in perfect harmony.
Behind this project is ALEM Arquitectura, a studio founded in 2019 by Ana Monteagudo and Wenceslao López, recognized for creating spaces that go beyond the conventional. At Casa Riaza, the architects have worked from preliminary studies to the final delivery, ensuring that every corner of the house reflects impeccable quality and a design that enhances the daily experience of its inhabitants.

French inspiration with a contemporary touch
Casa Riaza is inspired by traditional French architecture, with elements such as sloping roofs and shutters that add a rustic and elegant touch. Upon entering the house, a welcoming hall with a walnut piece of furniture and a double-sided fireplace greets visitors, while the fluid distribution of spaces visually connects the common areas. The living-dining room becomes the heart of the house, where the spaciousness and double height featuring exposed metal trusses in laminated steel and anthracite gray color capture everyone's attention.

Lighting plays a crucial role in Casa Riaza, elevating each space to a new level of comfort and sophistication. In the living-dining room, the lighting plays a crucial role in Casa Riaza, elevating each space to a new level of comfort and sophistication. The Saigon pendant lamps, designed by Nahtrang and manufactured in Portugal, stand out in the living-dining room. These lamps, with their ultra-warm light and fabric design that evokes soft movements in the air, add a special touch that transforms the space into a place to relax and enjoy.
The wooden stairs that connect the ground floor with the first floor are another focal point of the interior design, enhanced by the Vesper wall lamp. This minimalist and classic design sconce, with bronze structures and beige shades, provides a soft light that elegantly guides the journey between levels, combining functionality and style.

Materials that bring character and durability
The careful selection of materials in Casa Riaza reflects a commitment to quality and aesthetics. The use of walnut wood, iron, stainless steel, and large-format porcelain provides not only beauty but also strength and durability. The neutral colors and finishes in wood tones and dark gray create a cozy and sophisticated atmosphere, inviting you to enjoy every corner of the house. The details in the furniture and textiles, selected with precision, complete a design that leaves nothing to chance.
Casa Riaza is much more than a home; it is a reflection of ALEM Arquitectura's approach to creating spaces that are not just lived in, but fully experienced, offering its occupants a unique experience of comfort and beauty at every moment of the day.
