Casa Beltrán: harmonious architecture for a more peaceful life, by HHarq

Helena Hernández, through her own studio HHarq, has set herself the mission of “creating architecture that brings peace to a noisy world.” Casa Beltrán is a 215 m² residence that fully lives up to that ambition.

The homeowners, a couple with two young children, knew from the start that they wanted spaces that were comfortable, practical, and aesthetically pleasing. In its original layout, the home was highly compartmentalized, and much space was lost in hallways.

Helena Hernández reimagined the floor plan: two distinct zones for day and night, placing the kitchen at the center as the heart of the home and connecting it visually to the dining area with a glass divider. The aim throughout was to bring in as much natural light as possible and to design each space to adapt seamlessly to the family’s everyday needs—remote work, playtime, quiet moments, and hosting guests. Within this context, our Cruiser ceiling fan was also added to enhance natural ventilation in an efficient and silent way.

The color palette starts with a neutral, understated base. Accents inspired by nature—soothing greens and warm terracottas—add depth and balance throughout the home.

These tones appear in both the furniture and in thoughtful details like the Stan wall lights in terracotta, which repeat throughout the home—in bedrooms and in the kitchen. This natural palette is beautifully complemented by delicate watercolor prints by artist and designer Marina Milá, a long-time collaborator of Faro Barcelona, helping create a calm, family-centered atmosphere.

Casa Beltrán is a perfect example of how architecture can shape and support the lifestyle of those who inhabit it. A thoughtful project built to be lived in with ease, joy, and purpose.
