Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam: a hotel with a unique identity, by El Equipo Creativo

Located just steps from the iconic Museumplein, the Avani Museum Quarter Amsterdam Hotel is an ode to balanced and functional design. Behind its carefully curated aesthetic is El Equipo Creativo, the architecture studio responsible for the interior design and for a meticulous selection of Faro Barcelona luminaires that enhance the guest experience, from the rooms to the common areas.

This 4‑star hotel features 163 rooms and suites, an on-site restaurant and deli, and an unbeatable location for those looking to explore the city’s art and culture. Its design is vibrant yet practical, with a focus on sustainability—the hotel has been awarded the Green Key certificate for its environmental commitment. Avani’s philosophy is evident in every corner: a balance of style and warmth, of experience and well‑being.

And in that balance, lighting plays a key role.

In the lobby, the relaxing area near reception becomes inviting thanks to the lighting. The hanging Mine luminaires, designed by Nahtrang, bring rhythm, warmth, and character. This choice creates a cozy, welcoming atmosphere that invites guests to unwind from the moment they arrive, leaving a memorable first impression that reinforces the hospitality spirit of the project.

The rooms at Avani Museum Quarter also received special attention to lighting. For the bedside reading area, the wall reading lamp Suau in black, also designed by Nahtrang, was chosen. Its minimalist and functional aesthetic integrates naturally into a colorful setting where blues, greens, corals, and oranges coexist in perfect harmony. The design’s practicality, with its built‑in switch, enhances everyday comfort.

Additionally, the Dominica floor lamp in black, a Faro Lab design, was added to create soft, ambient lighting. Its geometric and industrial character adds personality to the space, helping define a relaxed, contemporary atmosphere.

This hotel project is an example of how lighting can go beyond functionality to become an essential part of spatial storytelling. A project that balances aesthetics, comfort, and responsible design, and serves as inspiration for interior design and architecture professionals seeking efficient and distinctive hospitality design solutions.
