When the cold comes our fan is abandoned, it becomes another decorative object without obtaining its maximum performance.
To combat this, there are fans that have a summer / winter function, and can be used both on cooler and warmer days. The inverse function allows the blades to rotate in the opposite direction of when we use it in the summer months, that is, clockwise when seen from the ground.
This change makes the blades push the air up, and move the hot air towards the sides, lower to the ground and then go up through the center of the fan. This process allows heating the room, saving energy used together with the heating system.
The heated air rises and that is why getting thermal comfort costs so much. With the use of the fan it is possible to help in the process and thus to achieve the optimum temperature with fewer resources and in less time. As in summer, it helps to cool the room faster, if it is used together with the air conditioning.
Besides, this feature allows you to move the air without causing a breeze. That can be an advantage to ventilate rooms in which a breeze could be annoying. For example, in children’s rooms or if the fan presides over a table, its use will not make the food cool down quickly.
